About The Staffordshire Range

The 'Potteries', an area in the County of Staffordshire, was the center for the original manufacture of many of these figurines during the latter part of the 18th Century and the whole of the 19th Century. They mainly depicted famous people, events of the time and animals, including 'exotic' species such as the elephant and zebra, which were virtually unknown by most people in England at that time.

The original figurines are now becoming rare collectors items and command high prices.
A figurine was sold recently, by auction in London, for £26400.00. ($43000.00 US, approx)
